Hello, my name is Lori Roper.  I have resided in Southern Maryland my entire life.  An unfortunate family tragedy led me down the path to becoming a Community Educator; a cause I am very passionate about.  I have been a certified Basic Life Support Instructor for more than 12 years.  My diverse background includes more than 25 years collective experience in Petcare, Childcare, Healthcare & Emergency Medical Services.  I have trained thousands of persons of varying professions, including: Other Basic Life Support Instructors, Physicians, Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighters, Childcare Providers, Parents (world's hardest job), Teachers, Coaches, Lifeguards, Scout Leaders, Scouts & Students (just to name a few) in CPR & First Aid. My mission is simple.  I pledge to provide easily accessible, affordable, appropriate periods of Lifesaving Instruction.

We are happy to provide Free Estimates for Local Individuals or Small Groups.  We now charge a Small Fee or Low Cost Itemized Quotes for Businesses or Large Groups. Full Payment of All Fees is expected prior to the start of class, on the day of class. We reserve the right to cancel appointments for clients that do not submit payment when due.  Certification Cards will not be issued to Students until payment is received & paid in full. Please do not schedule a course if you do not have the funds to pay for the course.  I too have a Family that relies on me to provide income as a means of support & to pay our bills. Prices are not negotiable.  Our prices reflect the current market value for the unique, quality service we provide.  We offer amenities that our competition simply does not.  Therefore, we will not Price Match.

Which class is right for me?

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Courses are Advanced Level Courses, specifically designed for Healthcare Providers, such as: Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Firefighters, Dentists, Dental Hygienists & others working in a Clinical, Patient Care setting.


American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Community CPR/AED & First Aid Courses are specifically designed for Non-Healthcare Providers, such as: Parents, Child Care Providers, Teachers, Coaches, Personal Trainers, Lifeguards, Scout Leaders, Scouts, Students & others. 


We offer Initial, Renewal, Challenge & Skills Check options for most courses.  Please read the above Course Descriptions to determine which class is best for you or if you're unsure, just ask us! We're happy to offer suggestions, but ultimately, it is your responsibility to know which Course your Employer or Institution requires. Students will be taught the Course they request & No Refunds will be issued for the class taught.

Where are classes held?

Our goal is to make training accessible for everyone!  Therefore, our business is unique in that we travel to your location & provide instruction in the convenience of your home or business.  

*While we are based out of Lusby, MD; we do not offer classes at our location. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of us coming to your location for training, then you may want to consider an organization that offers classes at their facility (i.e. Hospital, College, Fire Station, etc.).



When are classes held?

Classes are offered by appointment, Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.  

*American Heart Association (AHA) Courses must be scheduled 2 weeks (14 days) in advance, per Training Center Policy. Please plan accordingly, as this process cannot be expedited.



How do I study or prepare for class?

You will receive Student Manual access the day of class.  If you would like it in advance, arrangements can be made ahead of time.



When do I receive my certification card?

American Heart Association (AHA) certification cards will be sent electronically via email, 1-2 days post course & after payment is received in full. Please supply your Instructor with a current, valid email address that you check frequently. The Card Issuance process cannot be expedited, please plan accordingly. 

NOTE: 

  • You should receive an email from AHA with a link to claim your certificate, 1-2 days post course. If it bypasses your Inbox, then check your Junk or Spam folders. 
  • AHA updated the Course Name from BLS for Healthcare Provider to BLS Provider back in 2015 with the Guideline Change. All Cards issued after 2015 should reflect the name change. 
  • Electronic Cards (eCards) are considered equivalent to printed paper cards & actually are more secure.  Employers or other Entities can validate eCards by going to: www.heart.org/cpr/mycards & plugging in the eCard Code printed on the front. 


American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) certification cards will be issued the same day as the class is given, upon successful completion of all course components & after payment is received in full.



How do I pay for the class?

Payment is due the same day as class, prior to instruction. Certification Cards will not be issued to Students, until payment is received in full. We gladly accept the following forms of payment: Cash, Check, Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), Apple Pay & Android Pay.

How long is my certification good for?

Most Certifications are valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

We are located approximately 18 miles south of Prince Frederick & 7 miles north of Solomons in Calvert County; Southern Maryland.

Cancellation Policy

Priority One CPR & First Aid Training, LLC is committed to providing all of our clients with exceptional service.  We  understand that there are times when you must miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for work or family. However, when you do not call to cancel an appointment, or do not answer our Confirmations, you may be preventing another client from obtaining a much needed certification.  Conversely, the situation may arise when another client fails to cancel or confirm and we are unable to schedule you for an appointment, due to a seemingly "full" appointment book. 

 

Therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice of a cancellation.


Clients that do not answer our Confirmations within 24 hours of a scheduled course, will have their appointments canceled.   


Clients will be given 1 opportunity to reschedule another date/time.  

      

We reserve the right to cancel clients that are more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointments.  


No Shows or Clients that cancel without 24 hours notice or cancel on more than one occasion will not be rescheduled.

Priority One CPR & First Aid Training, LLC reserves the right to terminate services immediately, if the working conditions pose a serious risk to our health or safety.  Examples include, but are not limited to: 


  • Physical Hazards (i.e. Fall Risks)
  • Ergonomic Hazards (i.e. Poor Lighting)
  • Chemical Hazards (i.e. Gases/Fumes/Drugs)
  • Biological Hazards (i.e. Insects/Rodents/Mold)
  • Workplace Violence
  • Harassment

This Disclaimer applies to all persons in and out of the workplace environment either before, during or after the scheduled class.  Offenders will be informed at once and the proper authorities will be notified if conditions persist or worsen.


Additionally, there may be rare occasions when conditions make it unsafe for us to travel to you.  Therefore, we will be Closed when the Calvert County Public School System is Closed for Inclement Weather (Blizzards, Heavy Snow, Ice, Excessive Cold/Heat, etc.) or when the Governor of Maryland/Governor of Virginia/Mayor of Washington D.C. issues a State of Emergency (Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Floods, etc.).  Students will be notified as soon as Closures are initiated & every attempt will be made to reschedule the class for the next available day.
